“It is not the weight of jewel or plate, Or the fondle of silk or fur; 'Tis the spirit in which the gift is rich, As the gifts of the Wise Ones were, And we are not told whose gift was gold”
Edmund Vance Cooke
A departure from painting canvas or paper. I took a little sabbatical from the norm, for me, and tried out a little dye on silk. Here are the results.
Wow, they turned out stunning Beth! Bet it was a bit scary to just start the first one.
ReplyDeleteI think that's very nice. I tie dye every once in a while. Your work looks great. Happy Hoidays!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gloria and Deanna. It was a little scary and took days to make myself dye the fabric. Stamping on the resist was easy and I figured I could wash it out, but the dye...eeek. Only advice I have is wear gloves:)
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteLove the rich colors of the silk--and the trefoil pattern flows well with the silk.
Very Louis XV--without the fussiness!
Tres jolie madame!
